Two Months.

It has been two months since I last watched a live PBA game. Talk n Text versus Purefoods. Being a speck of dust amidst the pool of Giants fans. Seeing them lose. Seeing Jared Dillinger with 5 fouls and 1 point. Being disappointed at the end of the game.

Last May 1, we watched two live games. After two whole months. Seated in Upperbox A, we waited for the game to start. First game, Sta. Lucia Realtors vs Purefoods TJ Giants. I can't believe the Giants have oodles and oodles of fans. Define oodles. So, the Realtors were leading. But somehow, in some sort of way, the Giants were able to cut the lead, and eventually, win. Damn, I was rooting for the Realtors.

Next game, Talk n Text Tropang Texters vs Brgy. Ginebra Kings. Just like Purefoods, Ginebra has a multitude of fans. It's like oodles of Giants fans, times three. Anyways, I was so disapponted in the first half. Why? They were down by 18 points. Eighteen damn huge points, everyone! I told my mom, also a Texter, "Ma, hindi na ako aasang mananalo sila. Tulog na lang tayo." But I can't sleep; I want to watch. Weird as it may sound, they cut the lead into just 4 at the end of the third quarter. The Texter spirit in me was awakened. Loud and proud as I can be, I cheered for them. But I booed silently at the Kings' main men, namely Jayjay Helterbrand, David Noel, and Cyrus Baguio. Their fans might kill me. How's that for Texter spirit?

So, they had that damn chance to grab the lead, but no. They actually made it worse. Why?

There was, I think, a minute left in the fourth. Macmac Cardona attempted a lay-up, but it was blocked by Paul Artadi. The ball went out of bounds, and the possession of the ball was given to the Kings. Coach Chot Reyes was infuriated. He stormed into the court, talked to the referee with a finger pointed at Artadi, saying, "Last touch niya!" That made it worse. Coach was slapped with a technical foul, with Helterbrand shooting a technical free-throw. And the rest goes down to poo. The Kings won. After the game, a gay fan of the Texters throwed something at the referee who made the call. The event security tried every means to make her leave the coliseum, even carrying her, but no. Now that's Texter spirit.

So we left the coliseum. I was mad. My brother's happy. And we (meaning all of us) are hungry. Following the usual stuff we do, we ate at Inasal Chicken Bacolod, just in front of the Araneta. Ordered the same food, as usual. Talked about the game, as usual. Eating with braces, unusual. And there's also one thing unusual that changed that day.

I saw Cyrus Baguio.

I was trying to eat, in vain, when some guy in black went inside, along with two women, and chatted with the people seated in front of our table. I paid no heed; I was still trying to eat. When they left, that's the time I realized that the guy in black was the Kings' main man whom I booed silently. I was so shocked that I finished my glass of iced tea before I even finished my meal. Then he came back, alone, and ate with the people in front of our table. Okay, I was showing signs of shyness. Acting weird, laughing like hell, blurred vision. My dad was asking me if I'd like our picture taken with him. I was like, "Dad, kumakain pa eh. Gutom na gutom oh, pabayaan muna natin." And my ever-loving brother was like, "Sus, ayaw ni Ate kasi crush niya si Cyrus!" Gosh, I wanted to kill him. And I also can't believe he took a picture of me while drinking in vain. Look!

So, I agreed, hence, the picture below.

CAPTIONS!:
Marcus: YAY! May pic na ako with Cyrus Baguio!
Em: Ba yan, sana si Jared na lang katabi ko.
Cyrus: Patapusin niyo muna akong kumain! Gutom na gutom na ako!

After that, we left. While walking towards the car, my mom told me, "Hindi ba parang ang gulo? Binu-boo mo yung Cyrus na yun eh, tapos makikipag-picture ka?" I replied, "Ma, ganun talaga. Once in a lifetime lang yun! Di bale, Talk n Text pa rin ako!"

So much for two months after.

(The picture with "Skyrus" has been the basis of my brother and cousins for teasing. Come on.)
